Today we are excited to announce a major SOAR update: Mobile-friendly themes.

Desktop views of MyPack and MyTroop sites should be largely unchanged going forward. When you view those same pages on phones or tablets, however, layouts and sizing will adapt automatically. This should make your sites more usable on small devices, with much less zooming and panning.

Mobile and tablet views display a popup menu to make your menus easy to reach without a lot of scrolling.

This update has been a major effort for a couple reasons. Existing themes were designed with desktop resolutions in mind. Adjusting for smaller screens required surgery not just on the styles but also the organization of the pages themselves. On top of that, SOAR sites are full of user-generated content. It's a wonderful aspect of the service, but it also leads to challenges presenting content on different devices. We can't know in advance what some creative author might cook up in the rich text editor. We can only do our best to display it in a way that makes sense.

To all the site admins out there: Please give your site a try on mobile devices, and let us know if you see any problems. Our team has tested over a hundred sites across all the supported themes, but it's certainly possible your site uses large images, tables, or other content that doesn't look perfect with the latest updates. Let us know and we will work with you to find a good solution.
